For over 30 years, Richard has been making furniture inspired by the simple, timeless forms of Shaker and traditional country furniture. His work is influenced by the English furniture-making tradition, with an emphasis on good proportions, honest construction and careful craftsmanship.

Richard enjoys combining traditional techniques with a practical, understated approach to design. Hand tools play an important part in his work, and he takes particular care over the details that give each piece its character.

He uses carefully selected temperate hardwoods to make furniture designed to be lived with, used and enjoyed for generations.
