Last year, I worked part-time with a talented furniture maker and saw firsthand how difficult it was for him to reach a wider audience. Despite his incredible craftsmanship, he struggled to get his services in front of potential clients. Reflecting on my own recent experience and his challenges, I thought, why isn’t there an easy way for people to connect with skilled makers in their local area?
With a background in furniture design, I’ve always been passionate about transforming creative ideas into functional, well-made pieces. Recently, I designed a piece of furniture and needed to find an independent furniture maker to produce it. Despite my experience, I found it surprisingly difficult and time-consuming to locate a qualified maker in my area who could meet my specific requirements.
