About product

Midcentury modern inspired kitchen made from American Cherry timber with painted sections, with a large 3 x 1.2 meter island.

Being fully open plan to the ground floor living area, the brief was to design a kitchen that felt more like a piece of furniture than a straight forward series of boxes on the bottom and smaller on the walls. To this end the island deliberately only has a leg in each corner and floats over 20cm of the ground to give it more of a table feel. The wall run has 3 different depths of cabinets, the full length outer being deeper than the under worktop middle run.

The client chose a bold tangerine colour to complement the red hues of the Cherry timber and an equally colorful and bold splash back

The ‘ribs’ of the top middle wall cabinets also feature in the open shelving of the end of the island and the ‘barrel’ style base of the round breakfast bar at the end of the island that has an end grain ‘butchers block’ style top

This kitchen was part of a series of pieces made for an amazing house build in Keswick, Cumbria.
