Homage to the material I work with. Crafted from hundreds of English walnut strips and three hand turned, steam bent legs. This piece emulates the cross section of a tree trunk, with a dramatic opening down the centre to represent our complex interactions with trees, and perhaps the rapacious nature of mankind forcing the felling of these beings. The legs are a representation of the intricate root system that supports the tree.
