Initially trained in Industrial Design for large-scale production, Laurent now produces one-off and small-batch pieces of contemporary fine furniture for private clients, interior designers and architects. Much of Laurent’s work takes the form of commissions; designing and crafting pieces to adorn the most cherished spaces in clients’ homes.
Working primarily with domestic and European hardwoods, Laurent’s work often incorporates tactile carved textures, eye-catching curves and unexpected – and often deliberately ambiguous – finishes which explore the many different personalities which humble timber can portray.
Holding two Bespoke Guild Marks from the Furniture Makers’ Company and an array of awards and commendations Laurent’s work has been exhibited around the UK and overseas and pieces live in private collections from the UK to the USA and from Mustique to Transylvania.
