About product
As a rule, I don't buy new tropical timber, but I'm happy to employ reclaimed timber if it is available and of the right quality. A dense, oily and insect-resistant timber such as teak is the best material for outdoor furniture such as this bench, and we currently took stock of a large quantity of it. We've used it for several outdoor pieces, and this memorial bench is one of the pieces we made from it.
The bench comfortably seats three people, and includes level, flat armrests for someone to rest a cup of tea whilst sitting here. I am always happy to do a bit of letter-carving for a commission, and the phrase 'rest awhile' brings a lovely sense of contemplation to the final piece.
